Through this project, Kimood closes the loop of the circular economy in the strictest sense. The cotton used comes from manufacturing waste from Kariban brand cotton items, from the KARIBAN BRANDS range. The added polyester comes from the recycling of PET plastic bottles. Throughout the recycling process, tracers are incorporated into the yarn—viscose and ceramic filaments that function as a unique digital fingerprint. These tracers reflect light in a unique way and therefore have an unequivocal and tamper-proof code. Thanks to this, it is possible to store, on a blockchain, all the information regarding the processes to which the yarn has been subjected, in a unique and secure manner. Thanks to Aware™ tracers technology and the corresponding blockchain platform, Kimood enables the end consumer to follow the entire production process. This ensures that the product has been properly recycled, using its own waste, without any possible alterations during the process. A special label with a QR code provides access to the Aware™ platform and allows direct authentication of certificates using a simple smartphone.
