Through this project, Kimood completes the circuit of the circular economy in the strict sense. The cotton used comes from the manufacturing waste of Kariban brand cotton products, from the KARIBAN BRANDS range. The polyester added is sourced from recycling PET plastic bottles. During the recycling process, tracers—viscose and ceramic filaments—are incorporated into the yarn, acting as a unique fingerprint. The tracers reflect light in a distinctive way and thus possess an unequivocal and tamper-proof code. Thanks to this, it is possible to store, in a blockchain, all the information about the processes the yarn has undergone in an unmistakable manner. Thanks to Aware™ tracer technology and the corresponding blockchain platform, Kimood enables the end consumer to follow the entire production process. This ensures that the product has been properly recycled, using its own waste, with no possible changes during the process. A special label with a QR code allows access to the Aware™ platform and enables direct authentication of the certificates with a simple smartphone.
