Through this project, Kimood closes the loop of the circular economy in the strict sense. The cotton used comes from manufacturing waste from Kariban brand cotton products, from the KARIBAN BRANDS range. The added polyester originates from the recycling of PET plastic bottles. During the recycling process, tracers – viscose and ceramic filaments – are incorporated into the yarn and act as a unique fingerprint. The tracers reflect light in a unique way and therefore have a unique and tamper-proof code. Thanks to this, we can record, in a blockchain chain, all the information about the processes to which the yarn has been subjected in a unique way. Thanks to Aware™ tracker technology and the corresponding blockchain platform, Kimood enables the end consumer to follow the entire production process. This makes it possible to ensure that the product has been properly recycled, using its own waste, with no possibility of alteration during the process. A special label with a QR code allows access to the Aware™ platform and direct authentication of the certificates using a simple smartphone.
